Put Drive in your Dock

Make Drive an app on your Mac. It gets its own window and its own icon, and opens with one click, like Mail or Finder. Do it once, in either Safari or Chrome.

With Safari

  1. 1

Go to drive.copperleaf.media and sign in with your Copper Leaf Google account.

    SafariFileEditView

Needs macOS Sonoma or later. You can also use the Share button › Add to Dock.

  2. 2

Click the install icon at the right of the address bar.

No icon? Use the ⋮ menu › Cast, save and share › Install page as app…

  3. 3

Click Install. Chrome puts the app here, opening in its own window with its own icon:

Keep it in the Dock

Safari adds it to the Dock for you. With Chrome, open Drive once, then right-click its icon in the Dock and choose Options › Keep in Dock.

To find it later, press ⌘ Space and type “Drive”. To remove it, drag it out of the Dock.

Drive in the Dock

Stop it asking for the microphone

Voice search uses the microphone. To be asked only once:

Safari: Safari › Settings… › Websites › Microphone, find drive.copperleaf.media and choose Allow. For the Dock app, do the same from its own menu: Drive › Settings…

Chrome: click the icon at the left of the address bar › Microphone › Allow. The Chrome app keeps the same setting.

Drive is the same Google Drive you already use. The app is only a quicker way in, and you only ever see what Google lets you open.
